PSL Champions - List of PSL Winner Teams

A dominant team performance of Lahore Qalanders makes them the champions of PSL 2022 under the captaincy of their newly appointed captain Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Mohamad Hafeez was the man of the match in the final with 69 precious runs with the bat and a couple of wickets to ensure his side got their maiden PSL title.

Energetic and Young Zaman Khan was also impressed with 18 wickets in his debut PSL season. Fakhar Zaman scored 588 runs with a century and 7 fifties and their captain Shaheen Shah Afridi was the highest wicket-taker with 20 wickets.

PSL 2021 Winner

PSL 2021 was Multan’s first-ever final appearance and they won it with sheer dominance in the whole tournament. Multan Sultans won the event under their newly appointed captain, Mohammad Rizwan. Multan faced Peshawar Zalmi in the final and defeated them quite easily.

Sohaib Maqsood was the star of the final, smashing an unbeaten 65. Sohaib Maqsood was awarded the Man of the Match award in the final.

Emerging fast bowler Shahnawaz Dahani was the best bowler of Multan and the entire event, picking up 20 wickets. Rizwan was the highest run-getter for Multan Sultans. Sohaib Maqsood was awarded the Man of the tournament for his outstanding 428 runs.

PSL 2020 Winner

Karachi King was the PSL 2020 Champion. The final was considered a fan favorite one as two of the most popular cities, Karachi and Lahore, clashed. 

Karachi Kings won their first and only PSL Trophy under the leadership of Imad Wasim. Karachi Kings played a dominating show in the final and won it by five wickets.

Mohammad Amir was the best bowler for the Kings with 10 wickets. Babar Azam was the best batsman of the tournament with 473 runs and was awarded Man of the Tournament of the PSL 2020.

PSL 2019 Winner

Quetta won their only PSL Trophy under Sarfaraz Ahmed’s captaincy.PSL 2019 Champion team was Quetta Gladiaters. They qualified for the final twice before 2019 but fell short on both occasions.

Shane Watson scored 430 runs for Quetta in PSL 2019 and was the best batsman of the entire event. Watson was awarded Man of the Tournament. Sohail Tanvir was the best bowler for Quetta Gladiators in PSL 2019, with 19 wickets to his name.

PSL 2018 Winner

Champion team of PSL 2018 was Islamabad United. Islamabad United had three different captains in this season. They started with Misbah-ul-Haq, then mid-season, they were led by Rumman Raees, and in the concluding stages of the event, including the final, they were led by JP Duminy. 

Islamabad is the only franchise to have its name featured in the PSL Champion list twice. Islamabad United defeated Peshawar Zalmi in the final. 

Luke Ronchi was the best batsman of the entire event. Ronchi was Man of the match in the final. The rising star Faheem Ashraf was the best bowler for Islamabad United with 18 wickets.

PSL 2017 Winner

PSL 2017 Champion team was Peshawar Zalmi when they ran over Quetta Gladiators in the final with ease. Darren Sammy, was awarded Man of the Match for his brilliant cameo and captaincy.

Kamran Akmal scored 353 runs for Peshawar Zalmi in the event. He was the best batsman of the entire event and was awarded Man of the Tournament. Wahab Riaz was Zalmi’s best bowler with 15 wickets in the event. Zalmi won with the 2017 PSL with outstanding performance of Kamran Akmal and Wahab Riaz.

PSL 2016 Winner

In the very first edition of PSL, Pakistan’s capital city Islamabad defeated Quetta Gladiators in the final with ease. It was a high-scoring final, with Quetta putting up 174 on the board while batting first. 

Islamabad United won the event under the captaincy of Misbah-ul-Haq. Sharjeel Khan was the best batsman for Islamabad United throughout the event.  Dwayne Smith was awarded Man of the match in the final.
